SFU’s three campuses span across three bustling municipalities and there are plenty of ways to get to where you’re going. If you are considering driving, check out parking passes and parking information for SFU. For regular travel by transit, look into TransLink’s Employer Pass Program. Or, share the road with fellow colleagues in SFU’s Ride-Share and Carpool Programs.
Parking
SFU staff members are eligible to purchase parking passes per semester or per year. Annual pass holders will also have parking privileges at other educational institutions in the Lower Mainland as SFU has a reciprocal parking agreement with these universities. Passes can be purchased at any time.

Transit Options
Employer Pass Program
TransLink's Employer Pass Program offers a Bus, SkyTrain and West Coast Express pass at a 15% discount for continuing employees through monthly payroll deductions. A $15 non-refundable processing fee is charged by TransLink and will be also deducted through payroll. Interested employees MUST commit to the program for one year. Please note – employees with a limited term contract (temporary employees) are NOT eligible to participate.
To Enroll:
- On the Zone Map, determine what zone you live in and what zone you work in.
- Fill out the Employee Enrollment Contract (please read terms and conditions before signing up) and send to Melanie Lam at apsaassist@sfu.ca.
- Check your email. APSA will send a notification when the pass arrives and will provide intercampus mailing or pick up information.
To Make Changes:
Please fill out the Change Request Form if you wish to make changes to your current pass. Reasons for changes can include, but are not limited to, maternity leaves, end of employment at SFU, temporary leave from work, etc.

SFU's Ride-Share and Carpool Programs
Ride share and carpool programs are available to SFU staff on the SFU Jack Bell Ride-Share site.
Car-share parking vouchers are offered to encourage SFU commuters to ‘double up’ when driving to the Burnaby campus. Find more details about this program at SFU Parking's Alternative Transportation page site.
